The Third IEEE International Workshop on Data Science and Related Technologies (ICSC-DSRT’14)
Proliferation of data related to consumer behavior, economic trends, healthcare, environment, national security etc., has spiked interest data science and related technology making it one of the most rapidly growing fields of research. The need to efficiently gather, store, access, process, and display gargantuan amounts of data has occupied the attention of industry and governments. As a workshop focusing on the state-of-the-art researches on data science, the ICSC-DSRT'14 provides a forum for researchers from academia, industry and government to present their latest research progress, exchange brilliant ideas and thoughts, and explore new research directions. We continue seeking high quality research contributions and encouraging significant work that addresses the major challenges in the data science. Topics of interest include but are not limited to practical areas that span a variety of aspects of data science including
• Machine learning & statistical learning methodology and methods.
• Trends in data storage & retrieval: technology & relations to ‘big data’ and algorithms.
• Applications of data science to healthcare, energy, finance, education, etc.
• Interplay between data science, information theory, combinatorial algorithms, heuristics, etc.
• Related topics.
• Also, papers containing unusual & interesting empirical studies are welcome.
Authors are invited to submit a paper up to 6 pages (in English) in double-column IEEE format following the submission guidelines available at the ICSC-2014 web page. Papers must be original and not submitted to or accepted by any other conference or journal. An electronic version (PDF format) of the full paper should be submitted by the paper submission deadline to EasyChair (https:// www.easychair.org/conferences/?conf=icsc2014).
Choose "Workshop on Data Science and Related Technologies'' when submitting your paper. All submissions will be acknowledged.
More information is available on the ICSC 2014 web page.
Each paper will be peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the topical area. Papers accepted by the workshop will be published in the conference proceedings published by IEEE Computer Society Press. Outstanding papers will be selected for extension and publication in the International Journal of Semantic Computing (IJSC).
Regular paper submission: March 17th, 2014
Notification of Acceptance: April 6th, 2014
