IEEE ISM 2016
San Jose, California, USA
December 11-13, 2016
The series of IEEE ISM and its predecessor conferences is celebrating the 20th anniversary in 2016 - it's time to contemplate the coming of age of this "attractive young lady". The talk will briefly review the outset and important development steps of the conference series, both from the organizational perspective and from the perspective of hot and challenging research topics. This will shed some light on multimedia as a field of research and its changing emphases. Of course, a look at the crystal ball for ISM, "the young lady", will not be missing: does she have a promising future? What will this future be like? Is she going to marry? Will there be children? The dinner audience will be invited to develop their own vision - and not to forget that the best way to predict the future is to create it.
